We planted several varieties of tomatoes. Sugar babies, Romas and Beefsteak.
We planted several cucumber plants (YAY PICKLES!)
Even though we know carrots are hard to grow in our area, we decided to try some. I would love to see Lotte pull some carrots out of the ground, but for as many seeds as we planted there aren't many that germinated.
We planted Snow Peas along the back with the chicken wire and these babies have already grabbed on. They are so cool how they twist around the wire and climb.
And my favorite are the many variety of peppers we planted. We have a red and a yellow. Then we got a few different varieties we haven't seen before. We got a Purple Beauty and a Chocolate Pepper. They are both really sweet and dark type of pepper. I'm excited to try them. They are really doing well.
What did you plant? Are they growing? This little one is growing like a weed, but I think I'll keep him around!
The 'weed' is cute!
ReplyDeleteI really want to start a veggie garden - it would have to be in pots though, becasue I'm NOT a green finger type... more like the look of death... HOWEVER... if my aunt can do it, why the heck can't I?
I'm jealous- our garden is so sad- the GA heat is making everything wilty regardless of everyday watering.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. :) I hopped over here and was delighted to see you talking about your garden! We planted green beans (a TON of them this year ~ for the first time ~ we eat a LOT of green beans), watermelon, canteloupe, tomatoes, peppers, onions, butternut squash, and quite a bit of potatoes ~ most of them in a broken down kiddie pool. :D I have NEVER been able to grow carrots. Everyone says they're so easy... me, not so much. :( Good luck with your garden, can't wait to see how it comes out.

ps. (like this isn't a novel already) it would be AWESOME if you provided the option to use name/url ~ my google account is crazy, and not really where I want people to visit me. I'm sure I'm not the only one. :)
