Party Invitations

Brother's 1st Birthday is quickly approaching...here are the invites for his upcoming party!

If you don't follow my Pinterest Boards then you might not know that his party is going to be a Sock Monkey theme!

The invitation was designed by the very talented Ashley Fisher Designs and Events.  I went to high school with Ashley and she has done what I would LOVE to do...she quit her day job to start a business that she is super passionate about.  She is an amazing photographer and you must see her wedding....INCREDIBLE!

After I got the file from her I printed them at my local Walmart on the instant printer which does matte! With the help of a friend I mounted them on cardstock and added the name bunting.  His name is embossed with aqua glitter...it was quite a lot of work, but they look great!

Circus Party

I have a friend from high school {Melissa} who contacted me last month to make a shirt for her son's first birthday party.  He was having a circus themed party and she wanted an elephant onesie.  She directed me to her Pinterest Board so I could see the color pallet.

Here is the shirt that I made for Grayson the sweet little birthday boy!

After the party she posted the pictures on facebook.  She did such an AMAZING job putting everything together I asked to share all the details on my blog.  Happily she said "Yes"...so I get to share this talented mommy's first circus party!

I think it's appropriate to start with the invitation.  It was designed by Melissa's best friend Tyler Wheeler.  You can find her FACEBOOK HERE.  I believe she will be taking orders for these and maybe some other designs.  Message her if you are interested!

Melissa and her husband Kevin cut the pennant flags out of a paper pack called Animal Crackers by Imaginisce.  She used a handy tool called a Sew Ribbon Cutter.  It is a paper cutter that allows you to make the perfect cuts to thread ribbon in paper.  I really want one!

For favors she sent family and friends home with animal crackers and cracker jacks.  When guests came in she had them sign a Dumbo Golden Book.  Very cute guest book idea that he will have forever!

They made the cake banner themselves.  She also hung ribbon behind his highchair for a great pop of color.  The banner was also made by the party parents.  She used the Sew-Ribbon tool again and she cut the letters out with her Cricut on the Winnie the Pooh cartridge.

The cupcakes were made by Sassy Sweets Cakes and Treats from Troy, MO.  I love the blue icing.  The toppers were cut out from Melissa's Cricut and the elephant is a Martha Stewart punch.

I LOVE how his little ear pops out!

This is the party hat that Melissa and Kevin made for Grayson.  She used THIS template from Oh Happy Day.  I've already gone and printed it out to use for my son's party!

And because Grayson is too cute not to show off...here are some pictures of the Birthday Boy.

These were taken by the super talented photographer Stephanie Geisler.

I hope you enjoyed the party...I know I did.  GREAT job Melissa and Kevin...and congrats on being parents for a whole year now!

I'm linking this party up to these gracious hostesses.

Ninjas, Magic and More??

My Godson is turning 8 in a couple of days.  And he asked me to make invitations for his party this coming weekend.  His party theme was a little difficult to make invites for...I really need to get used to boy things now that I have one too!

He is having a ninja themed party, including a ninja movie and a magician is coming too!

He came up with the "Ninjas, Magic and More".  So we ran with it.

The ribbon is the "black belt" {tied like a karate belt is actually tied}.

And the actual invitation is folded into a "throwing star".  You open up the origami star and the invite information is written on the inside.  I just made them up rather quickly on Picnik.

{They are split down the middle because you have to cut the square in half in order to fold it properly}

HERE are the instructions I used for folding an origami throwing star if you are interested in making any young boys terribly happy with their party invites!

Watermelon Invitations

I really wanted to set the tone for the party by making the watermelon invitations fun, girly and different from printed out card stock.

I used 2 different colors of pink card stock and 2 colors of green card stock to assemble.  I also used large pink ric rac and letter stamps for Lotte's name.  I printed out the invite on the light pink circle and used my handy dandy martha circle cutter to cut them out.

I liked that they opened as a semi circle, sort of like a slice of watermelon!

I used lime green envelopes and put our little stamps to liven them up.

We had an after party for adults after Lotte went to bed.  Here is the little invite insert.  This was just for some of our close friends.

We sent out about 40 invitations.  It was a HUGE party.  We had about 50 people over!  Tomorrow I'll show you how we decorated the house and the outside party area...I'll also tell you what we fed those 50 people for dinner!
