Freezer Meals

I really am excited for Lotte's birthday party, but I'll be ready for it to be over.  But not really because that means my little girl will be 2!!!! I am currently pushing back tears to get on to the post.

One of my first home projects post-party is taking care of my freezer and doing better meal planning.  Basically, I'm going to ORGANIZE my kitchen head to toe or cabinets to appliances.

The Man has had a hankering for a deep freeze.  Finally we found one the size we were looking for {smallish} and it was only $25!!!!  So now I want to take some time to fill it up for the busy nights when I don't want to "cook" something.  I have found several links to freezer tips and tricks and organizing.  I wanted to share them with you in case you have a hankering for a beautifully organized and yummy freezer.

I would also really love to find a group of girls from around these parts who would like to do a meal exchange once a week or even once a month.  It's sooo easy.  Make one meal several times and then exchange them and you have several different meals!

A Wedding Shower Gift

I made this cutie a while ago for a sweet little girl who is getting married in August!  She is like a little sister and I wanted to make her something special.  

It is made out of crepe paper rosettes!  A LOT of crepe paper rosettes.  I almost didn't get it finished before it was time to go to the shower.  I only had a minute to snap a few shots of the wreath. 

And after taking the picture I realized I was missing a little "flag" on the bunting.  So the finished product has an extra green flag on the left.

I can't wait for her wedding!  I'm so happy that she has found someone that makes her "complete"!

Friday Flea Market Finds

Last Saturday my daughter was so stinkin' cute when we were at the local market that we decided to go out to the Grafton Flea Market that they hold once a month.  Grafton is a little bit of a drive, but when we got out there we ate at the Loading Dock {an outdoor restaurant right on the river}.  There is a man who owns a boat that he renovated to look like a pirate ship and he rents it out for parties...5th Birthday for Brother???!!!

After we finished eating we walked into the flea market....and this is a FLEA MARKET!

It is in a huge warehouse.

We loved walking around and seeing all the vendors and all the fun people.  I found lots of stuff that I would LOVE to buy.

Does anyone have an extra $125 I can have?  I'm pretty sure my son NEEDS this for his future bed room {when we are in a bigger house and he can have his own room...}.

I am going to go back and get one of these.  He had tons of them and they were only $7!  They are my "flea market regrets".  I always leave a flea market or thrift store and say, "I wish I bought that!"  That adorable Coca-Cola crate is my regret!

Love these trellises...the middle ones would look great side-by-side as a headboard!

This beauty was rather expensive but it is the PRETTIEST planter ever! 

In my ideal kitchen I have a beautiful display of vintage rolling pins.

I have seen these vintage spools at several different flea markets and I have been racking my brain to come up with a cool project using them.  You just wait, one day I'll have something awesome.  Do you have any ideas for them?

I ended up walking away with 2 vintage Sesame Street books, some yummy cinnamon-chocolate decaf coffee and a bag of corks from a local winery.

As we were leaving I saw this wall art.  People have glued all of these neat little things and nick-nacks onto the walls.

Fun carpenter rulers, saucers, postcards, coins, puzzle pieces, political signs and look at the awesome fire blower thing {technical term there!}

I can't wait to go back to see it grow through the summer months!

WARNING: Gross Mommy Moment

If you don't want to read about POOP and BREAST MILK don't read any further!

I'm going to be real about my son's "problem" and it is a little grosser than my normal content!
I'm doing this mostly for some feedback...if you are anyone you know has had this problem, please tell me it has turned out alright and this doesn't last forever!

My poor little boy doesn't poop!  He goes a week at a time with no "movement".  He isn't constipated, according to the doctor he has "slow bowels" or he is "stool holding".

He is 100% breastfed {which supposedly contains a natural laxative} so his poo isn't hard or formed so it isn't STUCK.  But it is just NOT COMING OUT!

At about day 5 he gets really uncomfortable and it gets to the point where he is really fussy by day 6 and 7 isn't happy either.  Then when he finally goes.....there really aren't words to describe it!  It's the worst smell ever, it is sticky and gross because it has been in there for so long.  It goes up the back of the diaper...all the way to his hair.  It comes out the legs of the diapers.  The only way to clean it up is to strip him down and put him in the sink to wash it all off.

I really hope that he doesn't deal with this all of his life.  I can't imagine what will happen if he does this when he is finally eating solids!

Someone please tell me that your child did this and grew out of it?!?
